How To Use Bananas In the Garden
Banana peel tea
You can also use a banana peel to fertilize your plants. Just take the leftover peels from breakfast and lunch, put them in water for two days before pouring on top of any type of greenery you have.
The nutrients will infuse into its leaves giving it an added boost!
Plant them directly in your garden
For this one, you can use ‘fresh’ peels or the ones from your banana peel tea.
Simply cut up into 1/4 inch pieces and place them either below plants before planting just under surface soil level to encourage fast growth!
By cutting up the peel, you start a process that will lead to new plants, as this decomposes and releases vitamins for your garden’s inhabitants!
Toss banana peels in the compost
Banana peels are often what sparks the idea for a compost pile, so start with those and then add in all other scraps to create some super-rich materials.
Dry and ground up for fertilizer
Peels can be ground up and sprinkled on top of the soil to give plants an added boost.
Simply plant the whole peel
Dig a trench about four to five inches deep, lay your peel out flat and fill it up with dirt. Plant seeds in the ground at least one inch apart from each other for best results!
Fertilizer spray
Adding eggshells, calcium supplements and Epsom salt are all you need for a beautiful garden or house plants. Use a spray bottle to give your well-established plant that little extra vitamin boost when needed!
Insect trap
To kill bugs use an apple cider vinegar soaked banana peel to trap them. The smell will draw in any pesky critters, but the solution inside of this container is what keeps everything trapped so they can’t escape!

Once again, while this might sound far-fetched to you at first thought – think again because your acidic soil loving plants crave for it.
